Day 29: The One Productivity Trick That 10X My Writing Output, Taking Me From 200 Words To 2000 Words Per Session.
Follow along my Ship 30 for 30 journey as I learn what it means to be a writer in this digital age.
Did you know that we cannot concentrate for more than 90 minutes?
And did you know that we can only do 4 hours of deep work?
These two facts made me wonder how I can make the most of the time I do get to work on my writing.
That’s when I found the Pomodoro technique.
Pomodoro is a time management trick where you work/study for 25 minutes and take a 5-minute break.
With the Pomodoro technique, I am uber-focused during the 25 minutes I work. When the 5 minute-break comes, I get the chance to get up and stretch, letting my body wake up from the stuck, sitting position. Then, when I return to my desk for another round of 25 minutes, I feel fresh and ready to tackle the task.
This technique allows me to work for 2 to 3 hours without feeling physically or mentally exhausted.
And what’s best is that the quality and quantity of my work has gone up.
I went from pushing myself to write 200 words to 2000 words flying out of my fingers.
Least to say, the writer in me is delighted.
