Day 27: Pantsers And Discovery Writers! This Holy Book Of The Pansters Will Kick Start Your Novel Writing And Will Make You Keep Going For Good
Follow along my Ship 30 for 30 journey as I learn what it means to be a writer in this digital age.
There are many books on Writing for Plotters. But what about us Pantsers? None.
After months of looking around, I stumbled upon this gem of a book. I wish I had found this book earlier as it could have saved me years of writer tears and pain.
Writing Into The Dark By Dean Wesley Smith
This book is what I consider to be the HOLY BOOK OF THE PANSTERS.
In Writing Into The Dark, Smith not only explains why pantsing is the way to write but also gives you historical proof of it.
Then he explains how you can go about it by sharing his process.
It gave me the validation that it's okay to be a Pantser/Discovery writer and how it could be more fun than being Plotter.
I am happy to say that this book single-handedly kickstarted my novel writing journey.
I have never enjoyed and looked forward to my writing session so much. Earlier I used to dread sitting at my desk and trying to shape my story in an outline and then writing it. Now I feel like I am riding the Writing Unicorn.
If you are a pantser, please give this book a try. I hope you find it helpful too.
