Day 18: 4 Simple Tricks To Make Reading Books A Part Of Your Daily Life
Follow along my Ship 30 for 30 journey as I learn what it means to be a writer in this digital age.
For 15 years and counting, I have been an avid and voracious reader.
And these 4 simple tricks have made my reading life effortless.
Pick Up A Book, Instead Of The Phone
This obnoxious little box of metal had taken over our lives. We waste more time on our phones than we want to admit.
To get rid of my habit of unnecessary scrolling through social media, I came up with a trick. Every time I go to pick up my phone, I pick up my current read instead.
This one trick helps me catch up with my reading regularly.
Read As A Reward
After I am done with my day's writing, I curl up with my current read.
Reading is relaxing and exciting to me. So closing the day with a reading session makes me satisfied.
Start Or End Your Day With A Reading Session
You can start your day with a reading session to give the day a positive boost. Or you can end your day with a reading session to give it a calm and relaxing closure.
Both of these ensure that you get your reading done without any interference.
Go Digital
This is the easiest way to make reading a daily part of your life.
Go digital if you're always on the move and can't carry around physical books.
Instead of scrolling through Instagram, Twitter and news feed, read an ebook.
Going for a run or cleaning the house? Put on your headphones and listen to an audiobook.
Time will fly, and before you even realise it, you'll be reading a book.
