Brendan Fraser Teaches Us How We Can Rise From The Ashes Of Our Tears And Heartbreak Like A Phoenix.
Keep Your Hope For Your Dream Alive.
His nervous but happy heart pounded inside his chest while his eyes filled with grateful tears.
The fact that, even after so many years, he was being showered with love and appreciation was too much for Brendan Fraser to take.
There was a time, almost 20 years back, when he felt his life and acting career was over. Having spent the 90s riding the ride of success, it all came to a screeching halt in 2003. An inappropriate gesture by someone who should have been respected and respectful turned Brendan's life from living in a dream to drowning in a nightmare. Brendan did what was right and stood up against this person. But since this someone was a man of power, this person used that power to shut everyone down and shut Brendan out of the film industry.
But the woes for Brendan didn't stop there. After being professionally banished, followed his divorce and then his mother's death. This led him to some dark places, which led to him working sporadically and then taking a complete break from acting.
After healing physically, mentally, and emotionally, it was time for Brendan to come back to his first love - acting. This took him a while because it was starting from the bottom again. At least, it felt that way to him. He didn't realise that the moment he stepped into the acting arena, his fans (back from the 90s) would come to his aid.
The fans he made during the 90s carried him on their shoulders and made him known again with the help of social media. These fans were kids when they saw Brendan slinging from one tree to another for the first time in George of the Jungle (1997) or when he was gunslinging an Egyptian mummy in The Mummy (1999). Brendan had made their childhood an adventurous and fun time. So to see him again brought all the nostalgia back. And, in today's world, the best way to love the heck out of something you have always loved is to spread it all over the internet.
During this same time, an Oscar-nominated director named Darren Aronofsky was on the lookout for Charlie, the protagonist of his next movie, The Whale (2022). He had considered many actors for the role but couldn't find someone to pull off the character. As Chance would have it, in January 2020, Darren saw the trailer of Journey to the End of the Night (2006), starring Brendan Fraser. That is when it clicked him that everyone had forgotten about Brendan Fraser and could be considered for the role of Charlie.
Things did work out between Brendan and Darren. The heart-warming and heart-breaking movie was made, released, and loved by critics and audiences alike. And that movie marked, as the fans call it, Brendan Fraser's 'Brenaissance.'
Well, this is definitely a revival of Brendan Fraser's life as an actor for now he sits in the front row of the 95th Academy Awards as a nominee for Best Actor, with his nervous but happy heart pounding inside his chest and his eyes full with grateful tears.
"And the Oscar goes to," said the presenter - actress Halle Berry, "Brendan Fraser."
At that moment, from the ashes of his tears, heartbreak and the efforts he put into reviving his life and career, Brendan Fraser rose like a Phoenix.
There will come a time in each one of our lives where Life will throw curveballs. A failed attempt, loss of a loved one, or an unfair situation. Then you do your best and what you think is the right way to take care of them. But the results don't turn in your favour. In some cases, like Brendan's, it might even turn disastrous. But that doesn't mean your actions were wrong or shouldn't have been done. Maybe you could have approached and tackled it differently, but you did what you thought was right, given your experience and wisdom at that moment.
A downfall could feel like the end of your life. But that is not the case. Because if that were the case, then it definitely, literally, would be the end of your life. The fact that you are still surviving means that there's still a flame burning inside you that wants to live. Yes, the flame may have dimmed a little, but it's still burning. And you must keep it burning.
No matter how beaten down you feel, keep moving. Keep living your life, and keep working on yourself and your dreams. Keep that flame of hope, love and dream alive in you. You have what it takes to live the life you desire.
Nothing, nothing, can stop you as long as you are by your side.
