I joined the creative journey in May 2014. And finally, in 2021, I took the leap of faith by starting my own newsletter on Substack.
Over these years, I slowly unravelled who I am as a writer and my journey.
But 2021 made me take a turn in a different direction. All the limiting beliefs I had about myself as a writer were challenged and defeated. Now I am learning to believe in the new me.
And I love the person I am becoming.
Here are the 30 creative lessons 2021 taught me.
Before telling yourself you can't do something, see if you can actually pull it off.
You're not alone. You have the wisdom, guidance and support of the people who came before you.
After a point, create more and consume less.

Treat Writing as a job.
Start small so that you can see yourself making progress.
Be consistent - do something small every day.
Be persistent - do it even when it's challenging.
Engage in deliberate practice - keep fine-tuning your craft.
Write for yourself first.
Trust the process.
Give it time.
Stop worrying about what others will say.
Think good, positive and in your favour.

You're a pantser. There's nothing wrong with being a pantser.
When you sit down to write, you need to be alone and away from the muggles.
Have fun. Enjoy yourself. Don't take anything at a life-or-death seriousness
level.
Be curious and see where it take you.
Get out of your own way. Become aware of your limiting beliefs.
